The Benefits of Exercise for Infants and Toddlers

“Brain research informs us that there are significant benefits from movement and brain development. While some studies indicate that regular exercise stimulates the brain and enhances cognitive function,
other studies show that play is an essential part of human development” Mr. Henh Swee Keat, Minister for Education.

WOW! This describes Baby Power Forever Kids in a nutshell- I could not have said it better!!

Exercises can be full of fun for the young infants and a great way for children to bond with parents and adults. (Baby Power Forever Kids)The hands-and-knees crawl by a child helps strengthen the upper body
muscles and stimulate neurons important for cognitive processes such as comprehension, concentration
and memory.

This in one of the reasons when a child tries to climb up a small slide the “wrong” way , I ask the mother to let the child go because this will strengthen both arm and leg muscles. Our gym activities in Baby
Power Forever Kids are designed for infants and toddlers climbing, rolling, reaching and the same gym equipment when changed around is used for toddlers and older children to roll, dive roll, climb the
mountain (large muscle activity).

Regular exercise causes the kind of development that may be critical for health in later life. Infant and toddler years are the time the brain is developing pathways and connections to the muscles. Children
who do not get enough exercise may miss out on the chance to make the strong kinds of brain-muscle connections that make physical activity easier and more enjoyable. As a child grows, physical activity will
become a life-long habit.

Exercise for infants, toddlers and young children is a great protection against obesity. So, keep on moving with your children. It’s FUN!
